Balch Springs Animal Control

Give a dog or cat a good home.  Feel free to stop by our Animal Control Office, located behind City Hall at 3117 Hickory Tree or give us a call at 972-913-3006. Shelter hours are Monday-Thursday, 9 am - 6 pm.  Check out the pets we have available for adoption.  Please give these animals a second chance.  To adopt a dog or cat, the adoption fee is $25. For more information, call 972-913-3006.  For animal emergencies, call 911.  An animal control officer is available Friday, Saturday and Sunday for any animal control issue. All dogs & cats adopted from an animal shelter MUST be sterilized no later than 30 days from the adoption date (TX State Law, Chapter 828, TX Health & Safety Code). Failure to comply is punishable by a Class C Misdemeanor and citations of up to $560. Also, under state law, the dog or cat will be reclaimed by the animal shelter.  The Balch Springs Animal Shelter will enforce this with NO exceptions!

We've got alot of older dogs who make great family pets as well as a few energetic puppies! We also have several kittens that need good homes.

Volunteers are always needed to help walk the dogs, feed and groom the animals, and clean cages.  Donations are also welcome and needed: dog food, cat food, treats, blankets, towels, shampoo, bleach, cleaners, air freshener, newspapers.
